I’m fat. No, just overweight. I carry about 35lbs of blubber around my waist that shouldn’t be there. I’m skinny everywhere but the belly. Demanding job, wife, and three young kids means that my head is cloudy, I’m constantly tired, and I feel twice my age. I need to get back in the game. First up, I plan on starting with Creatine. From there, trying to find a path. Thought about dhea, but forums report mixed results. Looking at white bean extract as a possibility. Possibly some of the cayenne related supplements. What stacks are Oppo's on?

forget all that shit. Cut your caloric intake on a day to day basis. You wanna lose that 35 pounds that’s the best and healthiest way to do it. I’m down 60 pounds since April, granted the first 30 pounds I lost thanks to a lovely little amoeba making my GI tract it’s home, bastard. but with them gone I have been able to carry on the weight loss by simply cutting my caloric intake down to about 1200 calories a day. I eat when I feel hungry, I don;t really watch what I eat just how much of it I eat and the most important part is I allow my self a cheat day. Diets don’t work, you’re gonna eat what you want and hate any diet that tells you no to stuff you want to eat. If you just try and eat less, cut back on sugar drinks and booze on a day to day and allow your self time to do what ever you want a day or two here or there you’ll drop that gut.

Supplements are a good way to spend money... I never saw a difference between using a bunch of supplements and not. Except pre-workout... I stopped using that stuff because it works way too well. I could do probably 1.5x more on everything I was doing that day if I took that stuff. Also made my heart feel like it was going to explode (and I was using the one that marketed itself as the “healthy” one).

I think most supplements are unnecessary and not effective. If you work out hard, a little extra protein is beneficial, but you can usually get what you need from actual food.
My advice is to reevaluate what you eat and get more physical activity. While I would recommend regular cardio and some strength training just spending any time on more physical activities will help
I’ve gone from about 225 lbs to 162 lbs in the past 2 years or so. I never used any supplements. Just changed my eating habits and a lot of exercise. I’m 25 with a demanding job, but no wife or kids so I probably have more free time though.

Creatine makes you gain water weight. If you cut back on water with it you will cramp up a lot. People would take it so they could do more workouts in a day to suck weight for wrestling. Then they would also dehydrate themselves the morning before to make weight. I saw a kid cramp up so bad they had to take him to the emergency room and put him on an IV drip because his muscles would not stretch out until he was re-hydrated. I won’t touch the stuff. It is contained naturally in red meat, same with B12.

Alright, you are trying to cut. I’d recommend a Blood Work check first. You could be vitamin deficient or have too much of something and you don’t want to overdo it accidentally.
I am not a fan of Whey protein, I’ve taken to Plant protein or Vegan protein. Not that I am a Hipster, but I have 4 ulcers and this is more gentle on the tummy with the side effect of over 9000 grams of Fiber, so get a magazine. I can recommend some brands as I’ve tried a few and some taste decent and some taste like an old gym shoe. Get a blender ball cup and get ready for some seriously interesting tastes.
Watch your diet...watch the amount of bread you eat. Not to say cutting out all bread is needed, just don’t eat the whole pizza or all the breadsticks at Olive Garden. I’ve trimmed a tough 18lbs off with watching bread intake, but I also goto the gym 3-4 times a week despite still drinking my weight in Guinness.
I take a cayenne/garlic/grape seed supplement in the morning and Men’s Alive Vitamins. That seems to settle the tummy and gives me energy all day. I take it with my breakfast every morning.
Here to bounce ideas off of...good luck!

The only thing I use is a pre-workout and it’s just the amino energy stuff now. The other NO supplements and pre workout’s I’ve used made me evacuate...

Cut refined carbs and sugar first, but make no other changes to your diet. That alone is a food “group” that contributes more to waistlines and diabetes than anything else.
If you don’t drop 10lbs in a month or two with no other changes, I’d be shocked.
If the results taper off, I might recommend you look into a short-term Paleo or Atkins diet (just for a couple weeks) to really crank it up. There’s pretty good science behind a lot of those, but one of the biggest things is that they force you to think about food, prepare food, and avoid processed stuff in general.
Creatine will likely ADD 10lbs of water weight to you almost immediately. It’s really for bulking and strength — not exactly what you’ll want to see right now.
Bang-for-buck on exercise? Tabata intervals. 8-16 minutes, bodyweight only, they will kick your ass.
I just finished a pullup/pushup/situp/squat routine 15 minutes ago in an empty office down the hall on my lunch break. Totally doable!
The only “supplement” I take is whey protein in the morning to add an extra 50g or so to my daily intake (with whole milk). Don’t be afraid to eat fatty foods for flavor and to stay full — it’s the processed and low-quality carbs that are the bigger danger.

Start exercising and increase your load every few days. Eat better, cut down on drinking if you drink, don’t drink soda regularly.
Then again, I’ve weighed 125-135 pounds for the past 6 years so...

Unless you mean gear by supplements, I vote it’s a waste of funds. Spend that money in the grocery store to buy tupperware, rice maker/veggie steamer, and food. Plus it will cover the cost of joining a gym that doesn’t suck. I’m paying almost double powerhouse to go to a gym with less people and more equipment, to me that’s worth it.
Someone below mentioned a blood work check, this is a phenomenal idea, get it done. Get some training on nutrition/dieting and different movements if you aren’t familiar or are rusty.

http://www.amazon.com/South-Beach-Di…
The South Beach Diet book. Get it, read it, READ IT, READ IT AGAIN, and live it. Reading it is crucial, don’t start going off internet advice and all that, read the actual book written by the actual doctor. It gets into all the science of food and how and why we eat what we eat. It also breaks down other diets, like low fat, low carb, atkins, etc. and explains what the high and low points are for each, how they are good, and where they fail. The beautiful thing is, it wasn’t meant to be a weight cutting diet, it was supposed to help balance blood chemistry, but by getting you to eat lots of natural, healthy foods, it helps you cut weight.
As others have said (and this is part of South Beach), you gotta gut sugar and processed foods. No more sodas and sweets. Limit starches like bread and pasta, and if you do have them, go for whole wheat alternatives.
Creatine is really for holding water - if you’re on the gym bro he-man Mr. Universe workout plan going hard 4 hours a day, you need it. If you’re just trying to cut weight and doing no or little exercise, it’s unnecessary. When I was in the Navy and working out almost every day for 1-2 hours I tried a cycle of it and saw virtually no benefit. Basic protein shakes can be good because extra protein in your diet helps you feel fuller, longer, so you’re less tempted to snack on junk food and stuff, and if you’re working out hard can help with muscle rebuilding, but if you’re eating right you should be getting most everything you need from your diet.

Ditch the supps. You aren’t eating correctly, aren’t sleeping correctly, or most likely both.

What's your workout routine for the core like? I used to work for a supplement company. We sold our stuff in bulk so consumers could make their own stacks without all the fillers.

Wow that's a crazy cut. Are you more of an ectomorph then? I'm bigger than that but I tend to be more of an endomorph, just all I can do try to cut up and get lean.

All the fillers in those pre-workouts are sometimes too much. What brand were you using? I used to work for a supplement company and we sold our stuff in powdered bulk so you can make your own stack without the extra unnecessary stuff.

I’m not really sure where on that scale I fall, but I’m definitely not an ectomorph. Probably somewhere between a mesomorph and an endomorph. I was way overweight for a long time and had an atrocious diet. Losing weight definitely didn’t come easy. Most of it was due to a shit-ton of running.

Abs, a strong core will make your center look smaller due to the muscle tone. I too am cushy in the middle, but Ive been hitting abs all summer (besides my standard M-F gym routine) and I look less like Santa and more like mister incredible before he totally thinned out.
I sit all day so my abs were totally dumb, meaning when standing they were totally relaxed, giving me an awesome profile.. But ever since ive been dedicaded about targeting my abs (upper, lower, obliques), my tummy is much flatter even though the weight is still there. (also it helps in the sack)
As for suppliments Ive only ever been religious to creatine, everything else you can find in food if your heating balanced enough.
Also suppliments arent going to do it, think of them as octain booster, in that a car designed to haddle it will respond better to it than a camry. What I mean is, you have to be dedicated to working out first, else your not going to be taking full advantage of any supplements, and that stuffs expensive.

I made a vow to myself this year that unless I’m sick or injured I’m going to get that work-out done. I’ve lost 6 lbs in about 6 months, which isn’t much but it is slowly working. I don’t believe in supplements, chocolate milk for a recovery drink, PB&J for during work-out carbs. I’ll take cytomax for a bike ride over 2 hrs, that’s about it. Once I get that metabolism back in burn mode the weight goes pretty fast.
